- What cheap and good camaras are there which have inbuild motion sensor, or can every camara be used to detect movement? (Must be able to connect to PC) - Is there any program which can be used to detect movement? (Those which can start recording when someone walk past, and stop recording once the scene returned to normal) Don't ask why I need it for.

1. Cheap and good...there is no such combination. There are cheap cameras with motion detect, but they suck, poor refresh rate, poor resolution, poor focus and poor life-span
2. I believe there is, I know of a university student whom has done coding (C++) to track the face of a person using a webcam with Motion-Detection to aim a USB missile launcher and fire after a few seconds. For freeware, I guess it would be hard to find, as the software can't possibly work for so many different webcams.
Yes and 'certain Webcams' has dynamic motion detection whereby it only starts capture based on detecting movement, but they cost $200SGD or more. These are no longer called Webcams, they are usually called Security Webcams or IP Security Webcams. Usually they come with infrared as well.

An example of a good Security Webcam would be this: D-Link WebcamThis should be around $-00SGD.

bah I was under the impression that any webcam can be security webcams. Whatever...
any recommendations for motion-detect camaras which are below 100 bucks? I'm tight on budget here
oh and 1 more query. Is there anything which can allow video input (from dvd players or camaras) into the PC?
